Nuthatch House

Invite acrobatic little birds to come stay in the handcrafted Coveside Conservation Products Nuthatch House. Nuthatches are short-tailed birds known for running down trees headfirst, and though they're cavity dwelling, they don't always take to nesting boxes as easily as other birds. However, this house possesses many attractive features that make it perfect for nuthatches. The 0.75" thick Maine white pine wood provides insulation from cold and heat. Ventilation slots at the top of the house help control the temperature inside, keeping nestling mortality rates low. A sloping roof and corner drainage holes ensure that the nesting area stays dry. Because the entrance hole is small and the house is deep, it is difficult for predators to reach down to the nest. No toxic paints or stains have been used, thus birds go unharmed season after season as the house acquires a weathered finish. The rough pine interior allows fledglings to climb out easily when it's time to learn to fly. For seasonal cleaning, turn the side latch and open the panel. Mount this house to a tree or post in your lawn and coax nuthatches to nest inside. Made in the USA.
